About MySTEM Academy

MySTEM Academy offers hands-on STEM, robotics, coding, and engineering programs for elementary and middle-school students across the Pittsburgh area. Founded by an engineer and a former faculty member of Carnegie Mellon University, our Academy has 20+ years of STEM teaching experience and has trained over 10,000 children.

Programs throughout the year

Fall, winter, and spring after-school programs serve grades 1–8, with one 55-minute class each week over 10–12 weeks. Summer camps run weekly from June through August, with morning and afternoon sessions. Students develop coding, engineering design, building, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

How we teach

Classes typically include 6–12 students, allowing individualized guidance and hands-on learning. We provide robotics kits, laptops, and instructional materials. Students design, build, and code while learning collaboration, thoughtful engineering, and continuous improvement — developing confidence along with skills.

Competition coaching

Our coaching experience includes 19 years mentoring robotics teams. Students have competed at regional, state, and international events, earning 80+ competition awards and scholarships along the way. FIRST LEGO League and VEX IQ team invitations depend on skills, readiness, commitment, and available positions; completing prerequisites does not guarantee an invitation.

Where we are
